Deploying at speed: meeting growing colocation and edge infrastructure demand

The latest data from 451 Research indicates a 7% CAGR in data center square footage through to 2020, with global growth continuing unabated. With 5G on the horizon, IOT and a huge volume and velocity of content, there is a significant burden on network infrastructure. To keep up with this demand is a huge challenge, requiring a rapid build out of capacity at speed and at scale.

In an increasingly competitive colocation and edge deployment market, speed, reliability and efficiency will win the day. As the move towards colocation-as-a-service and an interconnected edge accelerates, prefabricated and modular solutions will play a crucial supporting role, with operational data centers delivered in around 20-30% of the time as a traditional greenfield build.

Normalizing these foundational building-bricks to meet demand and create interconnected infrastructure, allows businesses to focus on creating additional value to clients.

Tune into this DCD>Debate to understand:
  • The flexibility and scale that prefab/modular allows for to meet long-term demand changes
  • The revenue generating benefits of modular solutions
  • How to de-risk project management and deploy at speed
  • How utilising standardised solutions can help create a winning proposition
