Fight the outage: bridging the power gap to keep the world online
The option of “hindsight” and traditional risk analysis approaches to critical facility planning fall short when addressing “black swan” events like the unprecedented mega wildfire disasters which have plagued California in recent years. With billion-dollar investments in digital infrastructure at risk in regions with a not so secure grid, sites that are ripe for locating data center facilities, quite often are not immediately equipped with adequate power availability. So what options exist to bridge this gap while you wait for the utility to catch up?
This presentation will examine how new sustainable solutions are emerging that have the potential to shake up traditional site selection, and create an environment that is conducive to building at speed and scale.
