Will the future of DCIM arrive with widespread adoption of ‘digital twin’ technology? As software and AI creep into the data center to improve efficiency, the use-cases increase and alternatives to traditional methods become available. Creating an electronic clone of a physical facility does have practical applications, through design validation and operational optimization, both inside and out. Particularly relevant is the visibility this can provide for increases in demand for power, cooling, and networking across the region.

We will investigate use-cases and whether a future application could be to incorporate this technology as an industry standard.
