Since the first annual DCD>Shanghai event in 2009, we have been proud to organize the market-leading conference for the fast-expanding data center market in China. Convening 1200+ senior executives in the biggest financial district in the country, home to many of the fortune 500 in China, we are committed to supporting continued development in a digital economy that has increased by more than five times in the last 10 years.

To achieve this aim, given the travel restrictions in place and taking into serious consideration the health and safety of all delegates, speakers, sponsors and partners, we have taken the decision to reschedule the event to 8 September 2020. The decision has been reached with the full support of all our partners and we are confident this will ensure the best possible learning and networking environment for the industry, allowing the event to follow up on the success of 2019.

Tom Winter, Asia-Pacific Managing Director, highlighted that by rescheduling the event, DCD have been able to both 'fulfil our duty of care to all involved and continue to deliver the strongest event possible for attendees and partners, building upon the 2019 success'. Jonson Yang, Country Manager, DCD China, added that 'our events across China continue to grow and develop. This new dateline reflects both our desire to continue this growth and our support in this region. We are very excited to welcome over 1500 delegates to Shanghai later in the year and develop a brand new data-center sustainability focus for the return of our December event in Beijing’.

Increased media calendar in build-up to the event

With a view to supporting continued knowledge-sharing and best-practice dissemination across China during this period of restricted travel, we have developed an increased calendar of webinars, newsletters and discussions for our community to take part in. Jonson Yang stressed 'our fast growing web traffic, media portfolio and online events for the region, will continue to drive engagement and interaction for our readers across H1'. This will continue to evolve over the next few weeks with, for example, webinars featuring Alex Perkins, Data Center Lead APAC, JLL, Oliver Jones, Co-Founder & Chief Executive, Chayora and Tammy Tang, Managing Director, China Colliers International.

DCD>Beijing supporting Sustainable agenda

As our community grows across the year, we are also delighted to announce the development of DCD>Beijing to support continued decarbonisation of the data center. Home to Government bodies and policy makers driving sustainability, the Beijing conference will look at PUE reduction, energy efficiency and renewable energy procurement.

With so much to look forward to across the year, we look forward to continuing our support of the China data center market at this difficult time and driving greater value and ROI for all of our stakeholders.
