The CEO of Altice France, Gregory Rabuel, has been dismissed from his role after 13 years at the company. He will be replaced by the company's head of media, Arthur Dreyfuss.

Rabuel also oversaw the French mobile operator SFR and has reportedly lost his job due to poor recent financial performances.

An internal memo viewed by local publication Les Echos and Reuters revealed that the group's billionaire owner Patrick Drahi confirmed his departure.

His departure was said to have taken place yesterday evening, with Mathieu Cocq taking over as managing director of SFR, which is France's second-biggest mobile operator. A union source was quoted by Les Echos as being dissatisfied with the French arm of Altice's financial performances.

Rabuel had been president of SFR and Altice France since July 2021, according to his LinkedIn.

Drahi meanwhile was given the go-ahead by the British government to increase his stake in BT by an additional 5.9 percent yesterday to 18 percent overall. Drahi's Altice is the biggest stakeholder in the British telco.

He purchased SFR back in 2013, and failed in a bid to acquire satellite operator Eutelsat last year.
