Online trading platform ATFX has moved its servers to Equinix data centers in London and Hong Kong.

Announced on September 23, the migration required ATFX to completely redesign its MT server data center and network infrastructure.

ATFX currently operates nine MT4/MT5 (MetaTrader) servers which have been expanded to ATFXGM22 server. Those servers are optimized for trading applications.

According to the company, the redesign of its connectivity network has improved latency by 60 to 150 percent depending on the service region.

Joe Li, chairman of ATFX, said: “We are committed to delivering the highest quality trading services to our global clients. By relocating all trading servers to Equinix, we not only enhance trading speed and stability globally but also lay a solid foundation for future technological innovations and market expansions.”

Equinix has five data centers in Hong Kong, all of which are connected. Hong Kong is a major financial and trading hub in Asia, making it an optimal location for housing trading infrastructure.

In the UK, ATFX is hosting servers in the OneZero Equinix Data Center - Equinix's LD4 facility. OneZero financial systems have data centers within Equinix facilities including TY3 in Tokyo, NY4 in New York, and LD4 in London.

Equinix data centers in New York notably host the New York Stock Exchange, as well as the Nasdaq stock exchange.

ATFX is a Forex and CFD (contract for difference) regulated online broker. Reducing latency is a strategy used by many traders, particularly those engaging in High Frequency Trading.
