Calibre One (stylized ‘Cal1bre One’) is a data center operator and IT consultancy headquartered in Kent Town, a suburb of Adelaide. The company offers hosting and cloud services out of two data centers, located in Darwin (owned by Secure Data Centers) and Adelaide (owned by Your DC).

These services are aimed at organizations with latency-sensitive workloads that can’t be hosted in the more populous eastern Australian states.

Calibre One chief financial officer Darren Gore told CRN that the data center in Adelaide is getting close to full capacity.

To keep up with the demand, the company will install new equipment and improve network connectivity between the two sites, located on the north and south coast of Australia, and separated by 3,000 kilometers of desert landscape. To this end, Calibre One has signed a $1million contract with its long-time partner Telstra.
