The sixth annual DatacenterDynamics conference and expo in Beijing is evolving into DCD Hyperscale China, a two-day event that will bring together the region’s biggest internet companies and service providers. It will be held at the Beijing International Conference Center on 13 and 14 October 2015.

“China is in the midst of an unprecedented data center development cycle and is building at scale,” said Dedric Lam, CEO for APAC at DatacenterDynamics. “We have seen a flurry of billion dollar projects as Chinese companies attempt to satisfy high demand for cloud services.”

By 2020, spend on data center products and services in China is expected to reach $24 billion (CAGR 17.5 percent), and by 2030 this market is expected to overtake the US in terms of size.

DCD Hyperscale China has already confirmed the participation of market heavyweights such as China Academy of Information and Communication Technology of MIIT, State Information Center, Baidu, Tencent, Alibaba, Microsoft, 21Vianet, GDS, SDS, China Unicom, Netease, Qihoo360, Shanda and Pacnet Telstra.

The conference programme will not only look at data center design and operation, but also at the latest service provider business models, the investment landscape and the emerging open-source data center movement led in China by ODCC – the Open Data Center Committee. The expo that runs alongside will feature more than 50 of the top technology and service providers including many of the big international players, alongside regional giants such as Huawei and Delta.

Nancy Cui, head of conference production for Greater China at DCD said, “Our conference programmes are focused on enabling the right discussions to help drive the industry forward.”

Stephen Worn, CTO at DCD added: “New server and network architectures, intensive virtualization and new service delivery models make hyperscale data centers much more complex. They need to be understood holistically and are leading to a profound change in design and investment criteria.”
