Cologix is adding a third data center inside the Infomart building in Dallas, Texas.

The Denver-based colo company said in a statement that the new 13,200 sq ft (1,200 sq m) DAL3 data center will use Cologix's existing meet-me-room.

DAL3 will offer connections to Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft’s Azure ExpressRoute, IBM Cloud and Oracle FastConnect.

This will bring the total space used by Cologix at Infomart up from 35,000 sq ft (3,250 sq m) to about 50,000 sq ft (4,650 sq m).

Bill Fathers, CEO of Cologix, said: "With a strong telecom infrastructure and low costs of doing business, the Dallas market continues to grow and thrive driven primarily by enterprise customers and network providers."

Last month, the company raised $500m from Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Investment Company to help fuel its expansion in the US and Canada

Earlier this year, Cologix acquired Montreal-based infrastructure provider Metro Optic granting control of its submarine cables in Montreal, as well as a hyperscale data center in Ontario. It currently operates 11 data centers in Canada, including two in Vancouver, seven in Montréal and two in Toronto.
