US real estate investment trust and carrier-neutral data center operator Digital Realty is expanding its European operations, entering into a definitive agreement to acquire a 34-acre land parcel in Hattersheim, approximately three miles from Frankfurt Airport.

The new site will developed into the company's next data center campus in Germany, and will be Digital Realty's third location in Frankfurt, alongside its recently-completed campus in Sossenheim. The acquisition is subject to the usual closing conditions, including zoning and planning permissions.
