French carrier-neutral provider Euclyde has bought a data center with 2,000 sq m (21,500 sq ft) of white space near Paris in Ile-de-France.

Euclyde-DC6 was previously owned by HSBC banking group. It is in Lognes, a Paris suburb. The facility, whose total size is 5,500 sq m (59,000 sq ft) joins other Euclyde data centers in locations including Sophia-Antipolis, Aix, Lyon (Villeurbanne) and Besançon.

Ready to invest

Euclyde says the acquisition is "part of a vast national structuring project which will be announced in the coming months." There are no details to share about this yet.

At Lognes, Euclyde plans to invest €10 million ($10.9m) in the facility, according to its announcement: "The investment will be significant to make this data center very close to Paris a showcase of excellence, performance, and security."

Euclyde's data page for the site claims it has "Tier 3+" reliability but this is not based on a certification as the site does not figure on the Uptime Institute's list of certified sites. There are further details in French here (PDF).
