Google Cloud has reorganized its engineering group as the division continues to grow.

The shake-up was revealed in an email sent by CEO Thomas Kurian, and seen by CNBC.

Eyal Manor, who led engineering and Cloud products like Anthos for the past five years, will step down from his role. Manor will stay on at Google, and is currently looking for another role at the company.

Brad Calder will take over Manor’s job, and add security and data analytics to his portfolio. He will also report directly to Kurian, which Manor did not.

“With 15+ years of experience in Cloud, Brad has the proven expertise to take on a broader role to shape and drive the entire strategy” for Google Cloud, Kurian said in an email.

Pali Bhat, design and product vice president, will assist Calder with the transition.

Urs Hölzle, who led much of the day-to-day product engineering efforts (and was Google's eighth employee), will focus on longer-term architecture and infrastructure efforts.
