Involta has expanded its data center in Independence, Ohio.
The company this week announced it has added 14,000 square feet (1,300 sqm) of space and an additional 1MW of capacity; the expanded facility at 7300 E Pleasant Valley Road now spans 40,000 sq ft (3,700 sqm) and brings Involta’s total capacity across Ohio to 10MW.
“Our Independence data center expansion in Cleveland marks the next phase of Involta’s growth as we increase our footprint to deliver mission-critical infrastructure and services to healthcare, financial services, and manufacturing enterprises – along with the ever-evolving technology sector,” said Jim Buie, President and CEO of Involta.
Involta owns and operates five data centers in Ohio – two in Akron and one each in Canton, Independence, and Youngstown totaling around 130,000 sq ft (12,000 sqm).
The Independence facility opened in 2017; the 25,000 sq ft (2,320 sqm), 1MW facility offered capacity for up to 300 racks across 10,000 sq ft (929 sqm) of data center floor space upon opening.
Involta was acquired by the Carlyle Group from M/C Partners in late 2021. This is the first expansion announcement from the company since the deal was closed.
