Networking, colocation, cloud and managed services provider Involta has opened a data center in Cuyahoga County, in a small town outside Cleveland, Ohio.

The 25,000 sq ft (2,322 sq m) facility, which has already signed multiple tenants, can hold up to 300 high density racks; its electrical infrastructure is designed to Tier IV standards with 2N+ UPS and two backup diesel generators. To optimize cooling, the data center relies on a proprietary HVAC air flow system. It is connected to the company’s Akron facility via its own fiber optic ring.

Altogether, Involta now operates fourteen data centers across the United States, having began construction of its first facility in the State of Pennsylvania last year. The company owns facilities in Arizona, Idaho, Iowa and Minnesota, and states that it has spent over $50m in the state of Ohio to date.

Involta will use the new facility to host its CompliantCloud platform and managed services, which include backup as a service (Baas), storage as a service (StaaS), disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) and infrastructure as a service (IaaS).

“We are proud to continue supporting Ohio’s growing business community with the opening of the Independence facility. The city has been an excellent partner throughout the process. This is an exciting milestone for Involta, and we are excited to celebrate the grand opening in conjunction with Involta’s 10-year anniversary,” said Bruce Lehrman, Involta CEO.
