Cloud and colocation provider LeaseWeb USA has moved into a data center in Chandler, Arizona, owned and operated by wholesale colocation specialist H5 Data Centers.

“The expansion and partnership with LeaseWeb is a win-win,” said Josh Simms, CEO of H5.

“LeaseWeb can offer enterprises a full suite of retail colocation and hybrid IT cloud solutions, while H5 Data Centers can continue to innovate and deliver world-class wholesale data center solutions. We look forward to working with this globally-renowned IT services partner.”

Synergies

H5 operates data centers in Ashburn, Atlanta, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, Phoenix, San Jose, San Luis Obispo, and Seattle, totalling nearly 2 million square feet.

Its campus at 2600 W. Germann Road in Chandler, a suburb of Phoenix, offers up to 180,000 square feet of space and 20MW of power, available in 125-kilowatt and 250-kilowatt increments.

LeaseWeb USA is a subsidiary of Amsterdam-based LeaseWeb Global. The parent company offers dedicated servers, private cloud, networking, security and hybrid IT services across 17 data centers in Europe, North America and Asia. However, it doesn’t actually own facilities, instead partnering with wholesale operators like Equinix, Zayo, Telehouse, Pacnet, and now H5.

The company has entered a long-term lease for data center capacity on Chandler campus, and suggested it could make similar deals elsewhere.

“LeaseWeb USA and H5 Data Centers come together with this Phoenix transaction at a similar scale in the US with a shared focus on delivering excellent service and hybrid cloud technology located as close to our customers as possible,” said Lex Boost, CEO of LeaseWeb USA.

“We see great joint opportunities in the Phoenix market, with the potential for an expanded partnership to come across our national footprints.”
