Ukraine's national Internet provider experienced a severe disruption to services due to Russia's ongoing invasion.
The connection issues are linked to damaged fiber optic cables.
"A significant disruption has been registered on Ukraine's national Internet provider Ukrtelecom; live network data show ISP connectivity now at 69 percent of pre-war levels; operator attributes disruption to fiber optic damage," Internet outage monitor NetBlocks said.
Ukrtelecom is Ukraine's monopoly telephone company, and also provides Internet and mobile services. It experienced a 40 minute nationwide outage on March 9, and temporarily lost services in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kherson, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Volyn, Khmelnytsia, Lviv, and Ternopil due to "combat damage" on March 5.
Services have mostly remained operational, thanks to Ukrainian telco workers continuing to fix damage to telecommunications infrastructure despite the ongoing conflict.
