Stack Infrastructure has opened a new data center on its Silicon Valley campus in California.

The company this week announced it has opened the 32MW SVY02 facility in San Jose. The data center measures 240,000 sq ft (22,300 sqm) across three stories, and is powered by 100 percent renewable energy through PG&E’s Direct Access program.

Stack’s 9MW, 140,000 sq ft (13,000 sqm) SVY01 facility is located adjacent to the new data center at 2001 Fortune Drive. SVY02 was first announced in January 2020.

“Stack has proven its ability to navigate the development and supply chain challenges of today in order to promptly deliver the data center of tomorrow in one of the most important technology markets in the world,” said Stack chief strategy officer, Matt VanderZanden. “Our ability to successfully partner with a variety of local Silicon Valley stakeholders has reaffirmed Stack’s tradition of development excellence. With planned future phases of our Silicon Valley campus, we look forward to continuing to address our clients’ needs and energizing the local economy.”

The company said it also inaugurated a 227,000 sq ft (21,000 sqm) data center in Manassas, Virginia in August. In May the company announced it had bought an additional 25 acres adjacent to its existing Prince William County campus and planned to build two 36MW facilities.

In May Stack announced a 56MW data center campus in Toronto, Canada. Earlier this year the company raised $400 million via securitized notes.

The company has pledged to reach 100 percent renewable energy across all its facilities by the end of 2021.
