American colocation and networking provider Wintek has started construction of a 10,000 square feet data center in Lafayette, Indiana.

COO Oliver Beers told wlfi.com that the facility on David Howarth Drive will more than double the amount of technical space under management by the company, in order to meet increasing demand for infrastructure services.

The cost of the project stands at $3 million. The data center is expected to open by the summer of 2016, with potential for future expansion.
