Legrand Data Center Solutions, a renowned provider of cutting-edge solutions for data centers, has unveiled the fourth generation of its Starline brand’s Critical Power Monitor (CPM) products, the M70 CPM. Since the launch of the first generation in 2013, the Starline CPM has been the preferred choice for busway power monitoring for major data center providers worldwide.
In development for the past four years, this new generation of Starline's flagship energy meter is designed to help site managers across various verticals easily and reliably monitor energy consumption in real-time, enhancing energy efficiency at mission critical sites.
For over three decades, Starline’s track busway innovations have provided facilities with the most flexible, reliable, and customizable power distribution systems on the market.
With global energy consumption forecast to double by 2026 (the International Energy Agency projects that data center’s total electricity consumption could reach more than 1,000 terawatt-hours (TWh) in 2026), the demand for greater efficiency and power density within mission-critical environments is also rising.
Consequently, revenue-grade energy monitoring systems are becoming essential for providing site managers and decision-makers with the real-time data needed to optimize electrical infrastructure.
The M70 offers unparalleled granularity for monitoring power feed, branch-circuit level, or stand-alone enclosures. It boasts the most comprehensive range of features and functionality on the market, including first-of-its-kind temperature monitoring technology, audible alarms and a pivoting display for easy visual access from the floor.
Additionally, the M70 supports the most extensive array of communications protocols available on the market today. Enhanced LED and LCD displays provide real-time data references, while the system’s configuration capabilities with DCIM and BMS packages ensure quick deployment. Significant improvements have also been made to enhance speed, robustness, and ease of implementation.
"The M70 CPM demonstrates our commitment to understanding our customers' needs and our drive to provide innovative, robust, and flexible products that help them increase energy efficiency and reduce costs," says Marc Marazzi, vice president at Legrand Data Center Solutions Europe.
"The M70 is at the forefront of technological innovation; its compact size makes it uniquely suited for optimal performance with track busway systems. It also surpasses other power monitors available today by supporting up to six current transformer inputs, allowing for power consumption monitoring at multiple receptacle levels.
“By offering increased visibility into real-time energy usage, the M70 provides unmatched granularity, enabling customers to make actionable decisions that drive operational excellence."
Other key benefits of the M70 CPM include:
- Single-, two- and three-phase power outlet monitoring
- Measured neutral
- Optional Wi-Fi
- Daisy-chain Ethernet and Modbus standard on all versions
- AC or DC versions
- Circuit breaker position sensing
- End feed lug temperature monitoring
- Enhanced security features
- Ongoing firmware vulnerability scans
- Access to advanced features and a wide array of built-in alarms.
