Nicholas Russell

Projects Director, MiCiM

Nick needs little introduction in the data centre industry having worked in this sector for the past 40 years across all disciplines. Having joined MiCiM in April 2018, Nick is currently working with NTT as senior project manager on the 80MW Dagenham data centre project having previously worked for several years on the Microsoft and Facebook mega datacentres in mainland Europe for Mace.

Nick joined Mace in 2005 and was one of the founding directors in setting up the Mace technology business where he was responsible for construction and project delivery as well as key account director for certain clients taking projects from initial enquiry through to final account.

Nicholas is a chartered electrical engineer, a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology and a member of the Chartered Institute Of Building and has been delivering technically challenging mission critical projects for the last 40 years. He has worked as project manger and project director on numerous projects ranging in value from £8m to £280m on both the client side and construction side of business. He therefore brings with him a vast experience in respect of the technical understanding of a data centre project and in what is important to the client in the design, building, operation and satisfactory completion of projects.

Nick is well known in this sector of the industry for his open and honest and straight forward approach to everything. He has a very hands-on approach to all projects to ensure clear communication throughout, both up and down the chain, ensuring that stakeholders requirements are met.

Prior to joining Mace, Nicholas spent seven years as a main board director of the international construction company Bellwater. Before that, he was a divisional managing director of the engineering and construction company Isovel.
