Traditional use of diesel generators for backup power is being challenged: regulators are slow to issue air quality permits, if they release the permits at all. More geographies are experiencing grid congestion and lack of available power. Intermittent renewable energy generators need grid interactive balancing tools. We will discuss the use of green hydrogen as a fuel for pollution-free backup, and maybe, primary power.
