"EkkoSense have a SaaS-based software platform to monitor data centers," the company's CEO said at DCD>New York. "It also builds on the monitoring to allow you to manage those facilities and then to maximize those facilities to get the best performance out of them."

Dean Boyle said that, while the system could help make energy and efficiency savings, "our customers ask us to deliver our service mainly to reduce risk.

"Nobody wants a data center to go down, obviously. One of the greatest causes of a data center outage is thermal outage, and our software absolutely shows you any kind of thermal risk, it will predict and look ahead at any kind of thermal issues, so fundamentally we stop risk."
