NextDC will provide the Queensland government with data center-as-a-Service (DCaaS) solutions from its Brisbane facilities.

The Australian colo company is the second provider to join the Queensland government’s ICT supplier panel, after Pulse Data Centre.

State panel appointment

As part of the appointment, NextDC will provide the state's government with prenegotiated conditions and pricing from its B1 and B2 Brisbane data centers.

Getting appointed to this panel will be a big win for the company. Last month, NextDC released their half year results, showing the data center operator was down US$2.1 million (AU$3m) after a two-year battle to reclaim properties from a majority shareholder.

The company operates nine data centers in Australia, targeting a total capacity of 300MW.
