Traver joined Uptime in January 2016 , bringing over 30 years’ experience in all aspects of data center IT and facilities planning , design , and efficiency , providing innovative global strategic technical direction, organizational and operational oversight. His experience encompasses data center operations strategy, including capital investments, lease disposition, site expansions and consolidation plans. Traver previously served as Chief Engineer and Senior Technical Staff Member responsible for developing IBM GTS Global data center technology strategy, tools and operational process optimization plan for the global 170 data center portfolio.

During his career he developed and implemented global data center strategies to consolidate, reduce cost and improve reliability across IBM’s global data center portfolio. Traver led the design, development and implementation of monitoring and capacity management tools to optimize legacy data center space, power and cooling utilization. Additionally, he was responsible for IBM Global Technology Services “Leadership” data center design and build, which integrated autonomic energy efficiency tools innovations with IBM Research-developed airflow CFD modeling and IT facilities hardware placement, to create industry leading PUE energy efficiency for a heterogeneous data center earning LEED Gold certification.
