Datacenter Economics and Strategies for Enterprises
Datacenter, the most critical component of the organization, is often a complex and costly management. Latest technological promises have tried to address these challenges by making it flexible, agile and lean in terms of cloud offerings and managed datacenter services, however, enterprises still struggle to stitch it all together and make datacenter an easily understood and managed initiative. Deciding factor for enterprises hinges around the economics, a balancing act among cost, scale, speed, compliance norms and manageability. It is interesting to take a deep dive on what enterprises tend to do in different scenarios, what are the pros and cons of hosted vs co-located vs managed datacenters. What considerations will make it investment attractive and risk proof in the VUCA world in which businesses operate.
