Understanding the current state of affairs for air cooling: Has it had its day?

This episode is now available to stream on-demand using the form below.

Air cooling has been the predominant method for chilling data centers for decades, however as demands for higher computational power continue to increase, operators are increasingly looking to liquid cooling to support HPC growth. However, despite the advantages of liquid cooling, air cooling remains the front runner, which begs the question ‘is air here to stay?’.

During this episode our speakers will address the current state of affairs for air cooling, and how this contrasts to the growth of liquid systems. This discussion will explore the advantages air cooling has over liquid, such as system simplicity and cost effectiveness, but also consider whether the ‘if it's not broke, don’t fix it’ mentality is keeping air relevant. Critically, this episode will address what the future of air cooling looks like, and where this will sit in a market where liquid cooling is becoming increasingly mainstream.
