Earlier this year, the European Commission commissioned a report looking at the feasibility of having data centers in orbit, expected to be completed in early 2024. While there has been an increased interest in the opportunities that moving away from the Earth, could have particularly from a sustainability perspective, what will this entail and how close are we to seeing this becoming the norm?

This episode will look at what the current status of space data centers is, why organisations like the European Commission are looking at the viability of future data center deployment in space and what the potential challenges that need to be overcome are.
