Hyperscale and Large Colocation Corporate Public Relations may not have direct line of sight while engineering and real estate teams may not have the PR expertise and experience to address community level challenges: aesthetics, environmental impacts, power and water constraints being obvious concerns. But do society, and local communities, require a more sophisticated understanding and education of the role of data centers in enhancing health, education, public safety, prosperity, and quality of life communities? Who should be educating the public on benefits? Can it be said that the reason there is public mistrust, is because data center developers are sometimes their own worst enemy, prioritizing secrecy over transparency?
