5C Data Centers is expanding into Arizona.
The company this week announced plans to launch a new campus in Phoenix.
The first facility at the site, PHX01, is scheduled to go live in 2025. That building will comprise 140,000 square feet (13,000 sqm) and 20MW of IT capacity.
The company said PHX01 will be able to accommodate densities of up to 132kW per cabinet.
"Expanding our footprint to Phoenix marks a significant milestone for 5C Data Centers as we continue to support the growing demand for high-performance and sustainable data center solutions," said Steve Perez, CEO of 5C Data Centers.
The company didn't provide further location details. However, its announcement includes a quote from councilwoman Laura Pastor; Pastor serves District 4, which covers parts of Mesa, Chandler, and Tempe.
"I am thrilled to welcome this 5C Data Center to my district," Pastor said. "This project will bring economic growth and high-quality job opportunities to the area. We are excited to see this substantial investment and infrastructure improvements to the neighborhood."
Launched last year and based in Montreal, Canada, 5C is led by Perez, who was a founding member of Canadian firm Hypertec DCS and served as VP of sales. Hypertec's data center business in Canada was acquired by Vantage in 2020. Before that, he worked at Bell Canada.
The company recently acquired a data center in Columbus, Ohio, and aims to expand the site.
On its website, the company also lists a campus in the Dallas Fort Worth area of Texas. The 25-acre DFW01 data center campus will offer 48MW of IT capacity with the potential to expand up to 144MW.
