Ahmedabad-based AESL is one of India's largest power transmission providers.

The smart meter solutions are powered by NB-IoT, 4G, and 2G. The meters will help AESL to ensure real-time connectivity and uninterrupted transfer of critical data between smart meters and headend applications.

Adani Energy Solutions said it has booked orders for smart meters from power utilities in the states of Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, and Uttarakhand.

Airtel's IoT platform will enable smart meter tracking and monitoring with advanced analytics and diagnostic capabilities, and will also be able to provide real-time insights and services to monitor energy consumption.

“India’s smart metering program is one of the most significant policy reform measures undertaken by the government," said Ganesh Lakshminarayanan, CEO, Airtel Business (India).

"These meters are critical building blocks for smart grids and fundamental enablers for the digitalization of the power sector.”
