Details about the location, size, and IT capacity of the planned data center have not been shared.

Timothy Lantz, CEO of Avant Technologies, said: “We believe that rapidly growing demand for new data center capacity, combined with the progress of our solution development over the past six months, supports our decision to move up the planned start date for this phase of Avant’s growth strategy.”

The company said Milwaukee was chosen for its first data center because of the ‘flourishing tech environment with booming investment and unbeatable affordability.’

The company also said partnerships between top universities, such as the University of Wisconsin-Madison, MSOE, and Marquette University, and industry leaders such as Nvidia, GE Healthcare, and Intel will create a thriving environment for an AI-focused workforce.

Avant Technologies is headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, and was founded in 2019. It has offices in Los Angeles and Orlando. The company offers AI infrastructure and cloud infrastructure solutions, as well as its machine and deep learning AI platform.

Colo firms Involta and Expedient are present in Milwaukee. Microsoft recently completed the purchase of 1,000 acres of land in Milwaukee to build its Mount Pleasant data center campus. Google has also opened a data center in the Milwaukee region.
