This is Barrio's fifth data center in Texas, all of which are connected to the ERCOT grid. The company specializes in acquiring, developing, and leasing industrial commercial properties, catering to large-scale energy users.

"Tyler offers a dynamic business climate and a talented workforce, making it an ideal location for our new data center," said Ivan Pinney, president of Barrio Energy. "We are proud to contribute to the local economy while continuing to support the growth of the digital infrastructure that powers our connected world."

Based on data center listings on Barrio's website, the Tyler data center is most likely Project Rose, described as having 12MW of power capacity and 8,000 sq ft of warehouse and office space.

The company also details sites that are already under contract with clients in Monahans, Edna, and George West in Texas, as well as the currently available "Project Taco," which offers 19 acres and 25MW of capacity at an unspecified location, with 20MW of expansion capacity available. It is also marketing two other sites, ERCOT South and ERCOT North, that will be available in the fall of 2024.

Among Barrio's data center services are pre-development work, including utility load applications, acquiring easements, and obtaining permits. The company will also help to ensure properties meet tenant requirements for potable water, Internet, and power.

According to Data Center Map, Tyler has one other data center operated by Tyler Vault. Tyler is located in the east of the state and around 133 miles east of Texas' main data center hub in Fort Worth/Dallas.
