“Thank you to everyone who attends the opening celebration of ClickIP Data Centers,” the company said on LinkedIn this week. “The cloud computing service has become a reality in the city of Manaus, now we offer the largest infrastructure in the North Region in connectivity, reliability, service with more quality and low latency, all this is possible because we have a local installation.

The company said it invested more than R$20 million ($3.59m) in the project, reportedly the first of its kind in the area.

Sat on a 1,200 sqm (12,915 sq ft) plot, the facility offers 685 sqm (7,375 sq ft) and 240kW of IT capacity, and is able to host up to 49 racks.

The ClickIP Group comprises Icom Telecom, Wire Fibra, Intlink Fibra, and Fiber Network, which offer fixed broadband services across Manaus as well as several cities in Amazonas and the State of Pará. It has around 100,000 customers across the units.

According to the co-founders of Grupo ClickIP, Maykon Souza and Neilson Reis, the project arose from internal demand as there is a lack of data center capacity in the Amazonas region.

With the launch, ClickIP Data Centers will also begin offering its cloud computing services to small, medium, and large companies, as well as Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and telecommunications operators.

“Initially, our intention was to host our own infrastructure to improve the health of our operation. However, with the significant changes in the market, we need to adapt, especially thinking about the customer experience. We chose to do something more robust, and not just exclusive. We saw the opportunity to market and seek certification, which will be a differentiator for our service,” said Reis.
