Ceragon Networks has secured a network modernization contract in India worth $150 million.

The Israeli-based networking equipment vendor revealed it has signed an agreement with a global integrator, in support of a network modernization project for a tier 1 operator in India.

As part of the contract, Ceragon will support a massive modernization project focused on upgrading existing network capabilities, expanding capacity, and improving country-wide connectivity.

Ceragon didn't disclose who the tier 1 operator was in its statement but noted the agreement will run for several years and will begin deployment of the new sites in the second quarter of this year.

It said that the contract comprises planning, product delivery, and deployment services, plus a contract for Ceragon’s Managed Services that covers day-to-day monitoring, management, and maintenance oversite of the microwave and mmW (millimeter wave) network.

Ceragon noted that deployment is expected to be completed within seven to nine quarters.

The company forecasts that approximately 75 percent of the project value is expected to be recognized in this timeframe, while the remaining amount of the contract value is for Managed Services & Maintenance, and this is expected to start being recognized within a year from deployment.

Ceragon has previously worked with Indian telco Bharti Airtel, when the company was selected for the provision of wireless multiband radio solutions back in 2022.
