NorthC, the Netherlands ' largest regional colocation provider, has completed the purchase of IP Exchange, marking its expansion into Germany.

The Dutch operator agreed to buy IP Exchange from IT services group q.beyond for around €44 million ($51.5m), in a deal announced in September 2021. The deal allowed NorthC Group to expand in the German market with two data centers in Nuremberg and Munich.

The two IP Access data centers have a total floor space of 14,000 sq m (150,000 sq ft), and 7MW of power capacity, and are connected by redundant fiber.

The German company will continue to operate under its own brand name, with the addition of a NorthC group company prefix. NorthC has said there is room to expand within IP Access' portfolio.

q.beyond is reportedly a strong player in Bavaria, with connectivity and managed services, but has left the colocation business in Nuremberg and Munich, with this deal.
