Swedish infrastructure company Eltel has secured a SEK 400 million ($39.2m) contract to manufacture towers and masts for the Swedish Armed Forces.

In an announcement, Eltel said that the agreement runs for two years, with the possibility of being extended for another five.

Eltel designs, builds, services, and maintains the communication and power infrastructure in Sweden.

The company also operates in Finland and Norway, where it has agreements with telcos such as Elisa and Telenor.

Eltel didn't specify how many towers it will deploy for the Swedish Armed Forces, but did note that it already has agreements for the maintenance of masts and towers, plus for installation and contracting services at the Swedish garrisons and air bases.

Its masts and towers are designed and built by Eltel's construction team in Arboga, Sweden.

Founded in 2001, Eltel has previously operated in Poland and Germany, divesting its operations in those markets in 2019 and 2020 in order to focus on the Nordics.
