Equinix has acquired three data centers in the Philippines.

The colo giant this week announced its planned entry into the Philippines with the purchase of three facilities from Total Information Management, a local technology solutions provider.

Terms of the deal were not shared.

The deal comprises three carrier-neutral and interconnection-rich data centers with more than 1,000 cabinets of capacity and land for further expansion.

Further details or specifications weren’t provided, but Total Information Management’s website says it has data centers in Carmona, Cavite, and Makati.

In Asia-Pacific, Equinix currently operates 56 data centers in 14 metros across Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore, including the recently opened data centers in Johor (JH1) and Kuala Lumpur (KL1) in Malaysia.

Total Information Management was founded in 1985 as an IT equipment provider, supplying re-certified and re-furbished mainframes and peripherals. Today it provides managed IT services, including public, private, and hybrid cloud services.
