Datacenter provider Equinix has recruited a new service partner, Kloud Solutions, to its channel partner programme in Australia.

Under the programme agreement Kloud can resell Equinix infrastructure and interconnection to its customers. The Equinix channel partner programme was devised to make the roll out of IT and cloud services run more smoothly, according to Equinix’s MD for Australia Jeremy Deutsch. The partnership makes it easier for people to use the cloud, particularly as a hybrid, when they don’t have the infrastructure themselves.

Cloud Exchange

Equinix’s interconnection platform Cloud Exchange physically plugs businesses in to multiple cloud service providers, he said. Now those clients can get Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, from multiple networks, from a single port. The roll out of services is simplified for partners such as Kloud, said Deutsch.

The partnership allows channel partners like Kloud to give enterprise customers a ‘fully productized package’ (i.e. a thoroughly defined range of services) and provides the security, low-latency and high-performance direct connections enterprise clients need with public and private cloud providers, said Deutsch.

“This is recognition that enterprise customers need a full solution and Equinix is part of that solution,” said Deutsche. “By working with partners like Kloud we can offer a full service together.”

Kloud’s hybrid cloud has been improved by the addition of Equinix’s superior data centre interconnection, claimed its MD Nicki Bowers.

“Equinix’s global reach and vast number of network and cloud providers is unlocking new revenue streams [for Kloud] in an expanding global market,” said Bowers. “Equinix is a key portfolio for us to align with.”

Equinix is constructing its fourth data centre facility in Sydney and seeking more partners in Australia with specialist skills and knowledge. “This global partner programme has only just rolled out so there will certainly be more partners in different verticals,” said Deutsch.
