Sat on just under one acre in Harris County, the 15,200 sq ft (1,410 sqm) property is described as a former telecoms mobile switching center for Sprint/T-Mobile and a “plug and play” data center.

According to the sales brochure, the vacant site includes a “high capacity” generator, HVAC, and fire suppression system. Further details weren't provided.

This is one of several former Sprint/T-Mobile switching sites that has come up for sale recently. In December, a small data center in Orlando, Florida, that was soon due to be vacated by T-Mobile was up for sale. The telco reportedly had another facility nearby.

Another T-Mobile-occupied data center in Maryland that was also taken over as part of the Sprint acquisition was recently available for sale or lease, with the telco set to exit the site by the end of 2023. Like the Orlando site, T-Mobile reportedly had another data center in the vicinity.

An already-vacated Sprint site in Iowa was also up for sale last year.

T-Mobile acquired Sprint for $26 billion in 2018, closing the deal in 2020.

The telco then sold more than 40 of its Switch sites to Cogent Communications in 2022 as part of the company's sale of its wireless business. Cogent aims to upgrade and repurpose these for retail colocation.
