NLighten, the new regional Edge data center firm from I Squared Capital, has entered the Netherlands and acquired a data center in Amsterdam.
The company this week acquired the GyroCenter; a 750 sqm (8,070 sq ft) carrier-neutral colocation facility near the Westpoort area of the city at Gyroscoopweg 134.
Terms of the deal were not shared.
"We continue to work full steam ahead towards building the leading edge data center platform in Europe," said Harro Beusker, co-founder and CEO of nLighten. "After Germany, France, and UK, we are now expanding to the Netherlands and covering another important and attractive business location."
NLighten said structural measures will be carried out in the near future in accordance with Uptime's Tier III standards, and the cooling system will be modernized.
Acquired by Sentia Group in 2015, the Gyro data center was launched in 2009 and previously known as ReasonNet.
Accenture closed a deal to acquire Sentia’s Dutch, Belgian, and Bulgarian businesses in 2022. Danish IT firm Aeven last month announced it was acquiring Sentia’s remaining Danish operations.
Owned by I Squared Capital through its ISQ Global Infrastructure Fund III, nLighten launched earlier this year.
The company acquired its ten initial data centers in Germany from Exa Infrastructure (another I Squared Capital company) before acquiring French operator Euclyde Data Centers and taking over six facilities across the country. It then acquired UK regional operator Proximity, taking over another ten facilities.
