Ola Group's AI subsidiary Krutrim plans to launch three chips and expand its cloud operations.
The Indian company has ambitious plans to develop a trio of semiconductors called Bodhi, Sarv, and Ojas.
Bodhi is set to target large language models and broader AI models, Sarv will do more general computing tasks, and Ojas will focus on the Edge.
Krutrim CEO Bhavish Aggarwal revealed these plans during the annual Ola Sankalp 2024 event, first reported by the Pinnacle Gazette.
Bodhi is set to be followed by Bodhi 2 in 2028, which Aggarwal claimed would be able to handle 10 trillion parameters and support exascale supercomputing. The company has also partnered with Arm and Untether AI for its chip development.
On the cloud side, the company claims that it will expand its data center footprint from 20MW to 1GW, as well as release new features including virtual machines.
The cloud services are used by parent and sister companies Ola Consumer (Ola Cab) and Ola Electric. Aggarwal claimed he moved off of Microsoft Azure and over to Krutrim because LinkedIn was too "woke."
Critics pointed out that his issues with Microsoft happened just as his own company launched a cloud service.
