The John Cochran VA Medical Center is seeking sources for a number of digital infrastructure improvements for its Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) efforts.

The upgrades and renovations are expected to cost in "the lower end of the range" of $10-20 million.

In a sources sought procurement notice, the Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri, will build 24 telecommunications rooms at Building 1. As part of that, it will overhaul electrical infrastructure, the UPS, building management system, assess if new HVAC systems are needed, assess and upgrade the fiber infrastructure backbone campus wide within Building 1, and deploy general communications infrastructure around the site.

Finally, the procurement calls for the construction of a new telecommunication tower on the exterior of the building.

Once the procurement is awarded, the project is estimated at taking 735 calendar days.

The current notice is only a 'sources sought' one for market research and information purposes, ahead of a planned, firm-fixed-price contract utilizing the design-bid-build approach.

That request for proposal is planned for mid-to-late-April 2023.
