Network innovation company Juniper Networks is working with global athletic brand Nike to co-create a next-generation data center, cloud and retail network infrastructure.

As part of Nike’s ongoing business needs it intends to deploy key components of Juniper Networks MetaFabric architecture to support its current and future business targets.

Juniper Networks said its MetaFabric will serve as the foundation for virtualizing multiple Nike data centers worldwide.

Juniper Networks MetaFabric Architecture is designed to enable a ‘simple’, open and smart data center that accelerates deployment and delivery of applications within and across multiple sites and clouds.

Through the open standards-based architecture of MetaFabric, Nike will be able to improve its application performance company-wide as well as advancing its network orchestration via automation and data analytics.

Through the agreement the pair will work on advancing orchestration via automation, management and data analytics across all Nike domains and will co-create future developments for Nike's network.

Nike CIO Anthony Watson said: “Nike is focused on elevating and accelerating innovation in our products, services and our digital ecosystem.”

“This requires progressive and agile technology solutions that keep pace with our growth, which is what Juniper’s solutions offer,” Watson said.
