Keppel DC REIT has signed two Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to procure solar energy in Ireland.
Mytilineos Energy & Metals this week announced that the companies have signed two long-term agreements for energy generated from two solar farms in Ireland to Keppel’s two Dublin facilities.
The solar farms, located in Gorey, Wexford, and in Goresbridge, Kilkenny, have a collective capacity of 14.28MW; once completed they will produce 13.6GWh of renewable electricity per year.

Through the PPAs, Mytilineos will deliver about 11 percent of the Dublin data centers’ total power requirements when the solar farms are completed in summer of 2024. Both solar farms are developed by Mytilineos’ M Renewables.
Keppel's Dublin 1 site in the Citywest Business Campus, was built in 2000. Built in 2013, Keppel acquired its Ballycoolin site – previously owned by Dataplex and now known as Dublin 2 – in 2017.
In January it applied to build battery storage systems at its two data centers in Dublin amid ongoing concerns about the amount of electricity available in Ireland’s grid for data centers.
In April, the company signed a wind PPA to offtake from Greencoat Renewables’ Ballybane Phase 1 wind farm in County Cork, to power its two facilities.

Including these latest PPAs, the companies said around 92 percent of the combined power requirements at Keppel DC REIT’s two data centers would be met by Irish renewable sources.
Mytilineos has previously signed PPAs with Telstra in Australia and two deals with Vodafone in the UK.
