LitUp Network Singapore has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with International Gateway to improve network connectivity and digital infrastructure in Thailand and the ASEAN region.

The MoU includes collaboration on projects including subsea cable systems and cable landing stations.

The companies will also develop and deliver increased network connectivity to meet the growing demand for high-speed Internet services in the ASEAN region.

Further details of planned projects have not yet been shared.

The two companies are already working together to build a new subsea cable system, dubbed the Satun-Hatyai-Songkhla-Rayong cable system, connecting the cities of Songkhla and Rayong in Thailand.

Founded in 2021, LitUp Network is a subsidiary of OMS Group Sdn Bhd and is a telecommunications firm headquartered in Malaysia.

The company delivers solutions in subsea cable deployments, cloud-based solutions, and the provision of broadband services.

ALT Telecom subsidiary International Gateway Company is a telecommunications and network service provider. Since 2017, the firm has provided bandwidth for domestic and international traffic in Thailand. The company said it operates more than 12,000km of fiber.

Thailand is currently home to eight subsea cables, with the AAE-1, APG, FEA, and TIS cables landing in the city of Songkhla.
