Malaysian information technology (IT) services firm Systech has formed a data center partnership with a local IT services firm.
In a stock exchange filing this week, the company announced its wholly-owned subsidiary, SysAIU, had entered into a collaboration agreement with Pinetop Technology Venture for the "establishment, development, and operation" of data centers.
No details of any planned data centers were shared.
In the filing, Pinetop is described as being principally involved in the development and operation of AI data centers and software development, including web mobile applications and large language models.
The Systech Group provides HR management, cybersecurity, and eLogistics solutions. Founded last year, SysAIU is Systech’s software unit.
Pinetop's website says it offers cloud management, AI, and cybersecurity services.
Under the agreement, SysAIU will be responsible for sourcing equipment and infrastructure, servers and storage systems, and cooling and power supply systems, as well as overseeing the installation, and maintenance of the infrastructure.
Pinetop will be responsible for technical support at the data center, including the GPU and server infrastructure, and developing AI applications and software.
This is the second data center venture Systech has announced this year.
In July, the company's SysAIU unit entered into a collaboration agreement with EH Integrated Systems Sdn. Bhd (EISSB) for the "establishment, development, and operation" of data centers.
Further details regarding that project weren’t shared
EISSB is a server firm and Supermicro distributor. This project will provide GPUs, servers, storage systems, networking equipment, cooling systems, and power supply units. SysAIU will develop software for the project with EISSB. The agreement is set to last two years.
