Meta has signed a renewable energy deal in Indiana.
Arevon Energy, a renewable energy developer, owner, and operator, this week signed a long-term Environmental Attributes Purchase Agreement with the social media giant for its Heirloom Solar Project in Pike County, Indiana.
Construction started on the 60MWac Heirloom Solar Project recently, and is targeted to be fully operational in Q3 2025. Arevon will own and operate the project.

Previous to Heirloom Solar, Arevon and Meta announced two long-term Environmental Attributes Purchase Agreements in March 2024 for the 349 Mwac Kelso Solar Project in Scott County, Missouri.
The first phase of the Kelso Solar Project is anticipated to start operations in Q4 2025, with the second phase following shortly after in Q1 2026.
Founded in 2017, Arevon is backed by US pension fund CalSTRS, Dutch pension fund APG, and a wholly owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.
The company owns and operates more than 4GW of utility-scale solar, storage, and solar + storage hybrid projects as well as distributed generation assets across 17 states. The company is currently constructing more than 2GW of new capacity and has a development portfolio of more than 6GW.
Announced earlier this year, Meta is developing a 619-acre data center campus outside Louisville in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The company then signed a 210MW PPA with Solarpack in Indiana.
Meta has said its global operations have been 100 percent supported by renewable energy since 2020. The company has signed PPAs in the US with the likes of Adapture Renewables, Ørsted, rPlus Energies, Avangrid, DESRI, EDP, BP, SiliconRanch, and others.
