The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that the cloud giant has purchased five parcels at 12123 Louis Sorenson Road from Peter Zenner Family Farm LLC for $43.4 million, as well as 5.9 acres at 12800 Louis Sorenson Road for $7.3m from Randall and Louise Borgardt.

Microsoft also bought one acre, at 12827 Louis Sorenson Road, from Ronald Smith for $900,000 last week.

Earlier this month Microsoft, paid $5.73 million for another 28.6 acres at 13231 Louis Sorenson Road. The latest additions lie north of Durand Avenue/Wisconsin Highway 11, while much of the Mount Pleasant campus is planned for south of that highway.

The project has expanded dramatically since it kicked off in 2023.

Microsoft broke ground on the first plot of land in Mount Pleasant last year. It originally planned to develop 315 acres of land previously set aside for a Foxconn manufacturing hub.

The cloud company then gained approval for another 1,000-acre expansion earlier this year amid further land acquisitions and purchased another 205 acres in July.

Microsoft then bought 70 acres of land for the same site in August. On August 16, Microsoft also purchased a 1.4-acre lot and ranch house at 2615, near Louis Sorenson Road.

In total, Microsoft has said it will spend $3.3 billion by 2026 to build the initial phase of its data center development.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is currently home to data center operators such as Lumen, Cogent, CyberLynk, and TierPoint.
