"After 8.5 years of highs and lows, I have decided to end my tenure at Microsoft," Bernhardt wrote on LinkedIn.

"In my new role, I aim to assist large energy consumers in unlocking growth opportunities, as well as support utilities looking to attract significant energy consumers, such as data centers and manufacturing facilities, to drive economic development."

Cloverleaf hopes to buy land and work with utilities to get them ready for electricity-intensive industries like data centers, semiconductor fabs, and hydrogen production.

Bernhardt will join Cloverleaf co-founder Brian Janous, who was previously the VP of energy at Microsoft.

"This is the second time in my career I've had the pleasure of hiring Nur," Janous said. "Excited to have him join and partner with him to keep building an amazing team at Cloverleaf!"
