Natural Environment Solutions (NES) is set to enter the Indian data center market.
The company is starting with building a 5MW data center in Hinjewadi, Pune.
First reported in the Hindu Business Line, the company has plans to expand its data center capacity in India to over 100MW in the next three years.
Other specifications of the data center have not been shared.
The new entrant to the data center industry said it is dedicated to revolutionizing data center infrastructure development, optimizing efficiency, and cost-effectiveness through advanced automation and digitization.
Umesh Sahay, NES founder and CEO, said: “NES is actively securing long-term power supply agreements with utility generators, ensuring cost-effective, environmentally responsible operations aligned with stringent sustainability standards.”
Sahay also operates a non-residential real estate firm, also headquartered in Pune.
The Adani Group company Terravista Developers acquired 25 acres of land in Pune to build a data center earlier this year. Iron Mountain, STT, Nxtra, Microsoft, and Tata Communications also have a presence in Pune.
A recent report from DC Byte said India-led growth in the APAC region has added over 2GW of committed and early-stage supply. More than 36 projects in the country claim to supply over 50MW.
